Civil Service Commission to provide jobs for the south (14/09/07)

The Presidency of the Republic has mandated the Civil Service Commission (CSC) to provide 20% of the jobs required for southern Sudan under the Comprehensive Peace Agreement. CSC Chairman, Professor Moses Machar, stated that the Commission will proceed to locate the jobs required in the concerned ministries in accordance with controls and regulations.

He said some members of the Commission have expressed concern that the job program may be difficult to implement in some of the regions, adding that the Commission intends to address the Presidency of the Republic on the modalities for tackling the jobs problem in those two regions.

Professor Machar revealed that a committee has been formed for laying down the Commission's plans and programs for the coming period, stressing that the institution will resolve job disparities for the whole regions of Sudan.

He further indicated that the rate of 20% of higher and medium jobs allocated for the South will scale up to 25% on the peace agreement's 5th anniversary.
