Four petroleum companies given environmental award (12/09/07)


The Ministry of Energy and Mining has given awards to four petroleum companies that work in Sudan as they stick to health standards and criteria which are considered as the most important points advocated by the ministry. CNPOC, UMPIC, ADICO and Petro Energy all received awards.
 
 
The General Secretary of Ministry of Energy and Mining, Dr. Omer Mohammed Kheir stated that his ministry paid great attention to environment and safety in general. 'There should be clean environment for all petrol drilling stages', he said.

He commended the companies that won awards in 2007 because they cared for preserving a clean environment. Dr. Kheir hoped that the companies will continue to keep this standard and other companies should follow their example.

Head of Safety Section at Petrodar Company, Dr Mohieldeen Mirghani stated that the forum under the slogan for a healthy environment focuses on environmental safety in petroleum production areas.
