Kuwait Red Crescent Society to send assistance to Sudan (16/08/07)

The Kuwaiti Red Crescent Society announced that it would start as from next Saturday an air bridge to Sudan composed of 15 relief planes in support of flood - affected people in the country.

The society said in a statement that the first plane of the air bridge carries 2600 tents and blankets, along with other relief materials to be distributed by the Sudanese Red Crescent Society.

It is to be mentioned that three planes loaded with Kuwaiti assistance arrived in Khartoum during the two previous weeks.
