Minister of Foreign Affairs praises relations with China (19/07/07)


Sudan Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Lam Akol has praised the relations between Sudan and China and Beijing's backing to Sudan in the regional and international forums.
 
 
Heading a coordinating meeting at the Republican Palace with delegates to accompany First Vice President Salva Kiir to China, Dr Akol said the visit is important in light of the developed relations between the two countries.

The meeting reviewed issues which are to be discussed by the two sides during the visit for further boosting the relations between Khartoum and Beijing, he said.

Sudan is keen on making the visit a success and briefing the Chinese officials on current developments in Sudan and the peace process as well as China's possible contribution in the rehabilitation and reconstruction process.

Meanwhile, Minister of Energy and Mining Dr. Awad Al-Jaz affirmed Sudan's keenness on promotion of cooperation with China, especially in the fields of investment and establishment of joint projects for linking the north and the south. The Minister pointed out that the First Vice President's visit to China is considered as a quality shift in the bilateral relations and boosting joint cooperation between the two countries.
