Taha explained that the visit of the Syrian Prime Minister is a fresh impetus to the bilateral cooperation and a good opportunity for revising the agreements signed by the two countries as well as reviewing what is being implemented by the joint high committee. "By boosting means of cooperation, we are looking forward to make Sudan-Syria relations a model for the whole Arab and Islamic worlds," said Taha.
Meanwhile, the Syrian Prime Minister, Mohamed Nagi Itray, affirmed strength and depth of the relations linking the two countries, reiterating determination of the leaderships in Sudan and Syria to boost them further to serve the interests of the peoples of the two sisterly States.
He stated that bilateral relations between Sudan and Syria are considered as a model for integration between Arab countries and that they are working to overcome challenges facing Sudan and Syria via development. The Syrian Prime Minister explained that the two sides held talks in fields of Irrigation, Agriculture, Roads and Bridges and Health, focusing on boosting of bilateral relations. He further appreciated the current economic and development boom in Sudan, particularly in Merowe dam project.
